Chief Executive Women (CEW) is an organisation of 167 women leaders from corporate Australia, the professions, academia, the public and not-for-profit sectors. The organisation was established in 1985 as a small active network of women executives.
CEW's purpose is to promote the development and effective use of Australia's leadership talent. We believe the whole community benefits if the talents of women are fully utilised. CEW aims to accelerate talented women into senior leadership through:
- Influencing CEOs, Boards and Senior Executives,
- Fostering the development of talented women, and
- Building a supportive and collegial environment for CEW members.
In support of this aim, CEW developed a Talent Development Program which is now in its fourth year. The program involves 11 of Australia’s leading organisations and is aimed at attracting and retaining talented women for those organisations.
In the broader community, CEW holds events to promote women leaders, and encourage debate.
The organisation has also created the CEO Kit for Attracting, Retaining and Developing Female Talent. CEW has partnered with Ernst & Young to manage and support the CEO Kit to continue to drive and promote the progress of women in Australian organisations. The CEO Kit is available through The CEO Kit section of this web site.
