Membership
Invitation-only membership
CEW is an invitation-only organisation, with over 200 members from across Australia, representing NSW, VIC, QLD, WA and ACT.
CEW members include Chief Executive Officers, Executive Directors and Board Members of publicly listed and private companies, government entities and non-for-profit organisations.
Membership of CEW is acquired and maintained by adherence to the Principles of Membership and Code of Conduct.
Nominations of potential new members are generally proposed and seconded by two CEW members whose own affiliation with CEW is of at least 12 months.
CEW also receives self-nominations from time to time.
Nominations close on 30 May each year. Following appropriate due diligence, offers of membership for the following year are made towards the end of each calendar year.
Membership eligibility is determined by the Council pursuant to recommendations by the Membership Committee. Eligibility is based on membership criteria.
CEW members are chosen on the basis that they:
• are leaders in their chosen field;
• have demonstrated thought leadership and vision, and
• are role models for women in Australia
When considering new CEW members, the Membership Committee is also mindful of whether nominees have a demonstrated career history based upon principled decision-making.
“It’s a pretty fair system of looking at what skill sets we need to make sure that we look like a micro version of successful women leaders in Australian business and public life. And we do”. (Wendy McCarthy, Former President, CEW)
